About Our Studio

Kewaskum’s finest; Alter-Ego is located in the beautiful Kettle Moraine. We have
proudly resided in Kewaskum since the early 90s. Owner Renee Pastorius bought the
studio from her mentor, David Jaecks (Weezle) in 1998. We then changed to our second
location in which “Main Street Tattoo” became Alter-Ego Tattoo Studio, LLC. After
14 years, the tattoo industry began to boom! Tattoos began to become socially accepted,
which brought a higher demand to our studio. Taking on two new artists, Ruth, a
Kewaskum native, and Heather, a Milwaukee art student, we grew out of our current
studio. You can now find us at our present location, 204 Main Street in Kewaskum, WI.
We also service tattoo lovers from Southeast Wisconsin and beyond!

Renee

Owner:
Renee Pastorius is a Tattoo Artist, Body Piercer, Permanent Makeup Technician, and Laser Tattoo Removal Technician. She graduated from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design with a Bachelor degree in Fine Art. Renee joined the Health Board for Wisconsin in Tattooing and Body Piercing Regulations. Renee has been tattooing for 26 years, removing tattoos for 6 years, and has been able to perform permanent makeup tattoos for 21 years. Renee's personal tattoo style is full of detail and color. Her artistic range knows no bounds, as she can create tattoos of landscapes, characters, nature, animals, patterns, etc.

Ruth

Ruth Koch is a tattoo artist, body piercer, and laser tattoo technician. Ruth started tattooing in a different studio before joining us at Alter-Ego. She has been tattooing for over 8 years and removing tattoos for over 6. Ruth is our expert in CPR and blood borne pathogens. Her personal tattoo style is an inbetween of weird and spooky, and colorful and flowery. She also designs original artwork for clients.

Heather

Heather Dougherty is a tattoo artist and body piercer. She went to UW-Milwaukee and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in fine art, drawing/painting. Heather has been tattooing for 5 years. Her personal tattoo style is more detailed and colorful, and she is known for her animal and people work.
